Figures released by UBM Brazil show that the 2012 edition of Intermodal South America took in more than 45,451 people. The highpoint of visitation was on the second day of the event, when more than 20,000 professionals were present at the fair.

One of the highlights was the seminar given by the coordinator of Economic Infrastructure, Directorate of Studies and Sector Policies, Innovation, Regulation and Infrastructure of the Institute of Applied Economic Research (Ipea), Carlos Campos Neto, who covered the issue of "Airports in Brazil: recent investment, perspectives, challenges and strategies to mitigate against adverse situations capable of damaging this transport modal". During the conference, he highlighted the studies that are being embarked upon to stimulate regional air transport in Brazil.
Third and last day of Intermodal South America underlines growth in the sector and especially in Brazil’s rail modal
The segment, which is already showing positive signs of expansion in cargo transport, will be fundamental for increasing the competitiveness of products made in Brazil.
On the first day of Intermodal South America, the Minister of Ports, José Leônidas Cristino, announced a new National Integrated Logistics Plan, which will change the network, with rail cargo use going up from 25% to 30%.

UBM plc today announces it has acquired Negocios nos Trilhos, South America’s leading railway industry exhibition, from Grupo Revista Ferroviária on behalf of UBM Live.
Now in its thirteenth year, Negocios nos Trilhos – literally, ‘Business on Rails” – is a cargo and public rail transport tradeshow which is held annually in Sao Paulo. Last year’s show attracted 180 rail equipment and technology exhibitors from 15 countries and 7,000 railway professionals drawn from both the public and the private sectors. The 2012 event will take place 6-8 November.
