MRS invests over R$ 500 thousand in Cargo Tracking System

This solution enables operations planning in order to offer increased flexibility of operations.

MRS will be one of the exhibiting brands at Intermodal South America - the largest event in cargo transportation, logistics and foreign trade - which takes place from 5th to 7th April, in São Paulo, has invested in the use of technology in order to speed up the operations. One of the solutions offered by the company is the Cargo Tracking System, a platform implemented in 2010 to meet the needs of cargo delivery predictability and assist in transport management and planning.

The system allows the management of the transport providing tracking information such as estimated arrival date, queue position, transportation history and railway services booked through the terminals. Clients and suppliers have online access to quickly provide the information needed. “This solution allows better planning for clients and suppliers, and it’s even possible to change the settings in the delivery prioritization. These features make it different from other technology available in logistics services”, explains Germana Adriele, Commercial Analyst.

MRS invested approximately R$ 500 thousand since the system was created, which turned out to improve competitiveness when compared to road modal, and earned the company’s clients trust, among them: Vale, Usiminas, CSN, Fibria, AB Areias, Cimento Tupi and Cimento Holcim. This solution is one of the services that will be taken by the company to Intermodal this year. The event will have over 600 national and international brands, from 25 different countries, and representatives in the most diverse areas of the chain, such as maritime cargo transportation, road, air and rail, terminals, ports, cargo agents, logistics operators, IT and services related to national and international cargo transportation.
