The Governor of the state of Paraná at Intermodal

The Governador of the State of Paraná, Beto Richa, was at Intermodal South America on its final day and also attended Infraportos South America to give his backing to companies and ports from Paraná participating in the two events. “These are the two biggest trade events for solutions and logistics for the ports sector in the Americas and it is impressive to see companies from Paraná standing out”, he said.

The Governor said that Paraná ports have become the benchmark for efficiency and productivity for other port complexes in Brazil.  “The investment made since the start of the administration in 2011 in infrastructure and equipment have guaranteed that in 2015 there is an operational volume of de 4.6 million tons of grain in the first trimester of 2016 and this has guaranteed an operational excellence that has allowed us to beat the record of moving 115,000 tons in a single month for export”, he said.

The Port of Antonina is not far behind. A focal point for investment, the port managed to increased its operational volume by 113 since 2011.  “Our state was the only one in the country to increase its investment plan and that is thanks to the severe financial adjustment we had. This readjustment process, which was very intense for everyone, allowed us to arrive at the position that we are in today: we are the fourth-largest economy in Brazil and the second most competitive state in Brazil”, he added.
